This CD with a musical selection by Joachim Stutschewsky includes most of his works for cello and piano. Almost all are in the Hassidic style which was a part of his life, being the son of a Klezmer and a Klezmer himself. The works were composed over a long period - about forty years, from the 1920s in Europe to the 1960s in Israel. The selection begins and ends with two cyclical works: Hassidic Suite (1946) and Six Israeli Melodies (1962). Between the two are works presented in chronological order, thus reflecting his creative development.
Emanuel Gruber - cello
Michael Boguslavsky - piano
