- Good sounds, good thoughts Review by David S

It’s hard and pretty pointless to discuss whether this music is Jewish music or not, but they’re definitely Jewish songs. All but one of the songs are in Hebrew, most of them incorporating scriptural or liturgical phrases. (The final track, “Echad”, also has some English vocals in counterpoint.) The one song written in English, “Bring Gilad Home”, now (thankfully!) an outdated plea for the release of Gilad Shalit, is the closest to a sad song on the album. Yet the underlying optimism in this song provides a good example of the joy and faith that Yerachmiel puts into his music and his singing. Many of the songs on the CD would (and probably do) keep wedding guests dancing. Indeed, tracks 2 and 7 provide original melodies or arrangements for the quintessential Jewish wedding lyric.Enjoyed
I’ve had the pleasure to experience Yerachmiel performing live. And although naturally nothing can capture the atmosphere of being there, I’m happy I own this CD. True to its title, “In The Hands of Heaven” ranges from being comforting to inspiring. (Posted on 5/31/12)
